"Pablo is the kind of guy who makes you want to work hard, because he believes deep down that you'll be successful" (and because he'll probably give you a good beating if you don't). "Pablo also doesn't tolerate anything less than 100% effort, from himself or his athletes. And the icing on the cake is that he's just dang fun to play with."

"In 2003, I trained with Pabs I dropped my Ironman PR from 9:22 to 9:07 and then 8:52. I continued to train with Pabs and won my first race in August 2004, Vineman Full Distance. Through the countless hours of training, Pabs could always make me go just that little bit harder up a hill or crack a joke at just the right moment to make me shoot Gatorade out my nose. What a fantastic combination to find a coach. We've already started making plans for 2005, which hopefully will start with a win at Ironman Arizona. In a way it doesn't matter because I've already won, I've found a great trainer who can push me while still making sure working out is never monotonous"

"I'm from Cleveland, OH, and was chosen out of 3000 entrants as the winner of the 2003 Degree Everyman Ironman contest where the makers of Degree Antiperspirant searched for one everyday person with the passion and drive to become an Ironman. Prior to winning the contest, I was a technology project manager, did not own a bike, and had no triathlon training background. Pablo was a pivotal part of the coaching team that helped me go from zero to Ironman in 5 months. He worked with me on many levels including but not limited to: swim workouts, bike workouts, run workouts, race support, and overall triathlon mentoring. I successfully finished the 2003 Ironman Florida race in less than 13 hours, and Pablo's coaching and mentoring helped make it possible. I value Pablo's passion for the sport. He is committed and dedicated to improving the health and fitness of others."

"Paul “Pablo” Healing was instrumental in helping me realize my Ironman dreams. Since the first time I met him he put me at ease with the condition of my fitness or the lack there of. His infectious personality seemed to attract me and other riders out for the newly established Saturday group rides.

It was those early rides that gave me the courage and inspiration to go on with my training. Pablo is a great motivator and teacher.

As our Saturday rides grew and our weekday workouts together became more often, we seemed to have developed quite a group of interested athletes. With Pablo’s insights we formed an organized triathlon club in 1999.

Pablo was the “stud” athlete on our squad until he left the Gold Coast of Connecticut for sunny southern California.

Our club, Team Mossman Triathlon Club, has since grown to be Connecticut’s premier multi-sport club with over 100 members.

It was Pablo’s positive energy that seemed to keep the group going in those early days. I have since competed in 6 Ironman races and have hopes to make to Hawaii someday.

I am proud to call Paul “Pablo” Healing my friend, mentor and coach."
